Jimmy Buffett, the legendary American singer-songwriter celebrated for his chart-topping hit “Margaritaville,” has sadly departed this world at the age of 76, as announced on his official website over the weekend.

In a heartfelt statement, the website conveyed, “Jimmy peacefully left us on the evening of September 1st, surrounded by his cherished family, close friends, beloved music, and faithful dogs. He lived his life like a timeless melody, and his absence will be profoundly felt by countless admirers.”

“Margartiaville,” released in 1977, soared to number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and held its place for an impressive 22 weeks, cementing its status as his most iconic single.

Throughout his illustrious career spanning over five decades, Buffett produced 27 studio albums, four of which achieved platinum status and eight received gold certifications. His remarkable journey included not only musical achievements but also successful endeavors in the business world.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Jane Slagsvol, along with their two daughters, Sarah and Savannah, and son, Cameron. Jimmy Buffett’s legacy will undoubtedly continue to resonate in the hearts of his fans worldwide.
